Health, Hygiene And Public Sanitation
Overview
According to The World Health Organization (WHO-2006), human health is defined in its broader sense as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”
Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases. Hygiene is a concept related to cleanliness, health and medicine.
Sanitation generally refers to provision of facilities and services for the safe disposal of human urine and feces. The word ‘sanitation’ also refers to the maintenance of hygienic conditions, through services such as garbage collection and wastewater disposal.
All the above three are important for a society to live a healthy life. In REACT, we strive to achieve the health, hygiene and public sanitation in various ways as below
Creating awareness about its importance.
Conducting basic medical check-up camps
Providing sanitary solutions and kits.
